The first ever conference on fraud and financial crime awareness was inaugurated today at a renowned hotel in Karachi.

Many financial experts attended the ceremony. 

Justice R. Sarmad Jalal Usmani, in his honorable speech, gave his opinion on the application of Anti Money Laundering Law, suggesting that the Anti Money Laundering law should have a separate system of security, and be run by an expert team with the authority to provide justice. 

He said that money laundering is reported at the State Bank level, but the investigation process is weak, which consequently results in weaker sentences. Hence those in charge of the investigative and judgment process must be both capable and accountable as well, he added.

During this one-day conference, local and international experts presented their respective point of views.
