Fertilizer offtake increases by 67% in June

July 24, 2020 (MLN): The total nutrients offtake during June, 2020 was about 702 thousand tonnes, which increased by 66.9 percent over June, 2019. Nitrogen offtake increased by 78.3 per cent while phosphate offtake increased by 18.7 per cent.

According to National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), production of all fertilizer products during June 2020 was about 686 thousand tonnes. Out of this, urea production was 469, DAP 73, CAN 55, SOP 0.9, Nitrophos 77 and various grades of NPK 4 thousand tonnes. Total imported supplies were 86 thousand tonnes, comprising 75 thousand tonnes of DAP, 0.8 thousand tonne of SOP and MOP each and 9.9 thousand tonne of MAP.

The cumulative nutrients offtake during first three months of Kharif 2020 was 1142 thousand tonnes witnessing an increase of 2.3 percent over the same timeframe of Kharif 2019.
