Fertilizer offtake improves by 35% YoY in August

September 23, 2020 (MLN): Total nutrient offtake during the month of August, 2020 was about 531 thousand tonnes, which shows an increase of 35 percent over August 2019.

Similarly, Nitrogen offtake increased by 9.7 percent while phosphate by 172.7 percent over August, 2019. Potash offtake also increased by 36.8 percent.

Cumulative nutrient offtake during Kharif 2020 (April-August) was 2173 thousand tonnes, which increased by 13.9 percent over the same timeframe of Kharif 2019. Nitrogen offtake increased by 10.7 percent, phosphate offtake increased by 23.8 percent, while potash offtake increased by 40.7 percent.

Production of all fertilizer products during August 2020 was about 786 thousand tonnes. Out of which urea and DAP production was 556 and 73 thousand tonnes, respectively. Production for rest of the products i.e. CAN, NP, SSP, SOP and NPK’s was 68, 82, 4.0, 0.9 and 3 thousand tonnes. Total imported supplies during August 2019 were 102 thousand tonnes comprising of 84 thousand tonnes of DAP, 8 thousand tonnes of MOP and AS each and 2 thousand tonnes of SOP
