August 26, 2020 (MLN): Total nutrient offtake during July, 2020 was about 498 thousand tonnes, which was 24.7 percent higher than July 2019. Among the nutrients, nitrogen offtake increased by 25.2 percent, phosphate by 22.8 percent, and potash offtake by 44.1 percent.
During Kharif 2020, cumulative nutrient offtake (April-July) was 1640 thousand tonnes, which increased by 8.2 percent over the same time frame of Kharif 2019. Nitrogen offtake increased by 11.0 percent, while phosphate offtake decreased by 1.4 percent. Potash offtake increased by 42.0 percent during the same time period.
Production of all fertilizer products during July 2020 was about 719 thousand tonnes. Out of this urea production was about 496 thousand tonnes (68.9 percent share in total production). Other products were: DAP 75 thousand tonnes, CAN 62 thousand tonnes, NP 69 thousand tonnes, SSP 7.2 thousand tonnes, SOP 0.8 thousand tonnes and various grades of NPK 9 thousand tonnes. Imported supplies comprised 92 thousand tonnes including 81 thousand tonnes of DAP, 4.1 thousand tonnes of SOP, 5.7 thousand tonnes of MOP, 1 thousand tonnes of AS, and 0.5 thousand tonnes of MAP.
