FDI slides by 49% during outgoing fiscal year

June 18, 2019 (MLN): Pakistan’s Foreign Direct investment (FDI) has incurred a 49% decline during the 11 months of ongoing fiscal year 2019, as the figure for July – May period stands at $1.6 billion based on the data released by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Further disintegration of the investment unravels that outflows from capital markets amount to $392 million while overall foreign investment in the 11 months summed to $224 million.

In comparison, overall investment recorded last year was $5.42 billion.

Apart from this, bonds issued for $2.5 billion boosted the foreign investment during the fiscal year.
