September 17, 2018 (MLN): During a meeting of the Inland Revenue Service Officers Association (IRSOA) held in Islamabad yesterday, the officers of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) pledged to extend unconditional support to the government for a successful implementation of reform agenda that aims to achieve a broader tax base and a target tax revenue of Rs.8 trillion in upcoming years.

It was decided during the meeting to hold the IRSOA elections as soon as possible so that service representatives with a fresh mandate could be elected.

A large number of Inland Revenue Services Officers that are posted at FBR, attended the meeting, in addition to field formations at all ranks and positions.

The participants further insisted that IRS should be given due representation in the larger interest of civil service and for better and prosperous future of the country.

The concluding thought on the meeting were that a stronger FBR would make a stronger Pakistan.
