According to an official spokesperson of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), FATF – GAFI will announce a decision on Pakistan this Friday.

The spokesperson said that no release is issued by the FATF as of now and the plenary is currently discussing Pakistan’s proposal. The International Regulatory Body has a meeting scheduled between 24 – 29 June, 2018 to discuss Pakistan’s progress on Anti Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism.

The spokesperson Ms. Alexandra responding to MG Link News mail said that, “The FATF plenary started yesterday, this is the decision-making body of the FATF. The outcomes of (which) will be published on Friday.”

Caretaker Finance Minister, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar is in Paris, France to make the case for Pakistan.

However, despite no official confirmation, local media agencies have announced the plenary’s decision.
