Exports of petroleum and coal items shrivel by 17.76%, MoM

October 19, 2018 (MLN): Exports within petroleum group and coal during the month of Sept 2018 have shrunk by 17.76% as compared to the previous month as it declined from $58.45 million to $48.07 million, revealed recent statistics released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Conversely, it has increased by 42.34% as compared to the same month of previous year when it was recorded at $33.7 million. This is mainly due to the increase in exports of Petroleum crude (52.95%), Petroleum Top Naphta 82.26% and Petroleum related products 18.20%.

On month-on-month basis, Petroleum top Naphta has witnessed the largest decline of 59.75% in exports, while Petroleum products took the second place in the list, recording a decline of 10.38% in exports whereas, Petroleum crude oil has recorded a meagre increase of 1.68% in exports.

With respect to the quantity exported, Petroleum Crude has been observed as the most heavily exported item in the respective group.
