April 5, 2019:  European stock markets edged ahead in opening trade on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.2 percent at 7,414.55 points.

In the Eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index was marginally higher at 11,993.22 points, and the Paris CAC 40 added 0.1 percent to 5,469.34 compared with Thursday's close.
