December 2, 2022 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Friday allowed the Ministry of Economic Affairs Division (EAD) to sign a debt rescheduling agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), said a press release issued bu finance division.

This agreement is signed under G- 20 DSSI for COVID-related financing.

To recall, at the start of the pandemic the WB and IMF urged the G20 to set up the DSSI which is established in May 2020, the DSSI helped countries concentrate their resources on fighting the pandemic and safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of millions of the most vulnerable people.

The ECC also approved the lowest offer from M/s Swiss Singapore PTE ltd for the import of Urea.

The committee also approved Technical Supplementary Grants/ Supplementary Grants of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy, and Ministry of Housing and Works.
