Dollar falls below 150 rupees in early trade

May 27, 2019 (MLN): Today’s interbank session observed Pakistani Rupee (PKR) slightly stronger at open as it was quoted at 150.75/151.25 per US Dollar (USD) compared to previous session’s closing quote of PKR 150.92 per USD.

At present, PKR is being quoted at 149.50/150.25 per USD which marks an appreciation of 1.42 rupee compared to Friday.

The local currency strengthened on the back of higher inflow of remittance due to Ramadan and the approaching festival of Eid. Pakistanis stationed abroad remit comparatively larger sums during this season.

In the last 3 trading sessions combined, PKR has appreciated by Rs.2.45 per USD.

In the Open Market, PKR appreciated significantly and was being quoted at 149.00 / 150.50
