November 10, 2021 (MLN): The country has successfully administered 114.89 million doses of Covid-19, vaccination more than 50% of the total population, claimed the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday.

“Pakistan has successfully vaccinated half of its eligible population against COVID-19! The fight against COVID-19 is not over yet. We must continue to encourage our friends, family members, and neighbors to get vaccinated immediately against this deadly disease,” the NCOC said.

As per the latest statistics provided by the NCOC, of the total 114.89m vaccinated people, around 76.139m have received the first dose whereas 46m have been fully vaccinated.

Since the spread of Covid-19 in the country, the government has conducted 21.23m tests with a positivity ratio of 6% (1.27m). Of these, around 1.22m have recovered, and 28,566 have died due to complications.

Pakistan’s strategy to combat Covid-19 which included smart lockdowns has been a massive success. Earlier this week, Pakistan ranked first in the Economist magazine’s normalcy index as the country has lifted lockdowns to curb the virus spread owing to low level of positivity.

Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain remarked that Pakistan’s ranking shows the “huge success” of the government in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
