According to the Pakistan Central Cotton Committee data, cotton crop is progressing well in Punjab and Sindh. The report outlines that picking has also accelerated in Punjab and better yields are being harvested throughout the region.

The report highlights that pest infestation is being managed through various characteristics and overall no significant losses have been reported.

However, in southern districts of Sindh i.e. Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad khan, Badin, Tando Allah Yar and Hyderabad, the crop is being terminated after fifth and sixth picking. The crop was heavily affected by incidents of pink boll worm and heavy rains.

Prices of seed cotton remained between 2800-3200 per 40 kgs.
