According to the Pakistan Central Cotton Committee data, cotton crop is progressing well and better yields have been harvested especially in Punjab, where cotton picking has also accelerated.

In Punjab, pest infestation is currently being managed through various chemical compounds although the situation is under control as no losses have been reported. In Southern Districts of Sindh i.e. Umerkot, MirpurKhas, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Tando Allah Yar and Hyderabad the crop is terminated after fifth and sixth picking. The quality of crop in these districts has been damaged by incidences of pink boll and heavy rains.

Prices of seed cotton remain the same at 2800-3400 per 40 kilograms.
