Commercial Banks land benchmark index in green in month’s first trading session

February 1, 2019 (MLN): KSE – 100 index concluded today’s session at 41,112points, closing the first session in over two months beyond the 41,000 points mark.

The index gained over 310 points today, marking a jump of 0.77% over yesterday’s closing value. An intraday high of 41,207 points was recorded today, while intraday low logged in at 40,793 points.

Companies listed within the benchmark index witnessed a trading activity of 127.4 million shares at Rs.6.8 billion.

Leading the gains throughout the day, Commercial Banks have emerged as the top net gaining sector while the index was navigated by gains on the scrips of BAHL (+4.48%) and UBL (+2.63%).

Of all the 89 companies whose shares were traded today, the share price of 59 company recorded increase while 28 companies recorded a decrease.

Meanwhile KSE All Share gained around 162 points today, closing the session at 29,825 points.

A total of 228.8 million shares were traded within the broader KSE index, at Rs.8.5 billion.
