Closing Bell: Market remains under the bearish clouds

September 26, 2019 (MLN): Previous working day’s losses on trading floors carried on to today’s session as the benchmark KSE-100 Index lost 131 points and closed at 31,433 level amid lack of positive triggers.

The Index traded in a range of 315.62 points or 1.00 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 31,591.55 and a low of 31,275.93.

Of the 87 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 39 closed up 45 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 88.70 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 55 points, Fertilizer with 47 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 20 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 18 points and Chemical with 12 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 46 points followed by ENGRO with 40 points, HUBC with 36 points, BAFL with 16 points and SEARL with 11 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 12 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 6 points, Insurance with 6 points, Miscellaneous with 5 points and Food & Personal Care Products with 4 points.

The most points added to the index was by MCB which contributed 21 points followed by KEL with 13 points, DAWH with 12 points, EFUG with 6 points and BOP with 6 points.

All Share Volume increased by 19.71 Million to 124.48 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.6.87 Billion.

Total companies traded were 359 compared to 362 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 146 closed up, 186 closed down while 27 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 3,717 to 39,957.

Value Traded decreased by 0.64 Billion to Rs.3.53 Billion
