November 06, 2020 (MLN): A day after a bullish run, the KSE-100 concluded the last trading day of the week on a negative note by losing 339.69 points and closed at 40,731.61-mark. This was 0.83 % lower compared to the previous closing.
According to a closing note by Next Capital, profit-taking was witnessed on Friday as the world still awaits the outcome of the US Presidential elections.
The Index traded in a range of 469.59 points or 1.14 percent of the previous close, showing an intraday high of 41,144.74 and a low of 40,675.15.
Of the 94 traded companies in the KSE100 Index, 18 closed up 76 closed down, while 0 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 185.32 million shares.
Sector-wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 121 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 53 points, Fertilizer with 47 points, Cement with 35 points and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 27 points.
The most points taken off the index were by HBL which stripped the index of 49 points followed by MCB with 32 points, ENGRO with 27 points, UBL with 26 points and PPL with 20 points.
Sectors propping up the index were Technology & Communication with 42 points, Vanaspati & Allied Industries with 7 points, Glass & Ceramics with 1 point and Cable & Electrical Goods with 1 point.
The most points added to the index were by TRG which contributed 39 points followed by MEBL with 18 points, COLG with 11 points, UNITY with 7 points and SYS with 6 points.
All Share Volume decreased by 6.22 Million to 350.44 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.47.76 Billion.
Total companies traded were 390 compared to 400 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 132 closed up, 237 closed down while 21 remained unchanged.
Total trades decreased by 5,823 to 115,896.
