Closing Bell: KSE-100 gains 522.98 points, up by 1.14%

KSE-100 index traded in the 1.3 percent range of yesterday’s close. The market gained steady ground right before the close, index in the last half hour gained more than 600 points. The value traded during the day amounted to 13.7 billion, with volume reaching a total to108 million.

NCCPL data on FIPI/LIPI reports an increase in foreign buying as Foreign Corporations continue to sell. Since Monday, Foreign Corporations have divested more than 19 million from KSE-100 stocks. Whereas, local buying is strengthening the index points, as Mutual Funds and individuals have collectively invested more than 19 million in the market in the last two days.

Commercial Banks and Oil And Gas Exploration Companies continue to witness an upward tick in buying from the local markets helped by individual and Funds. 

Market gained a total of 522.98 points or an incline of 1.14% during today’s session. The index touched an intra-day low of 46010.45 points, a high of 46623.91 and closed at a tally of 46533.43 points.

The net gainers by price during today’s session were; Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan SAPL +87.18, Wyeth Pakistan WYETH +79.49, Island Textile Mills ILTM +48.00, Mari Petroleum MARI +46.03 and Unilever Pakistan Foods Ltd UPFL +45.50.

The net decliners by price during today’s session were; Sapphire Textiles SAPT -54.00, Service Industries SRVI -36.29, Abbot Laboratories ABOT -30.45, Exide Pakistan EXIDE -26.88 and JDW Sugar Mills JDWS -20.75.

All Share Volume decreased by 62.99 Million to 256.14 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs. 109.83 Billion.

Total companies traded were 393 compared to 396 as of previous session. Of the scrips traded 274 closed up, 104 closed down while 15 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 11,564 to 100,092.

Value Traded decreased by 1.1 Billion to Rs.17.61 Billion.
