Closing Bell: Bulls 1 – 0 Terrorists

June 29, 2020 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange got embroiled in an unfortunate event today, wherein four terrorists opened gunfire in its vicinity and injured several civilians before being taken down by the security forces during the initial hours of the session.

Despite this, the KSE-100 index secured a victory against the negative sentiments that transpired out of this event and ended the trading session with a 242.31 point or 0.71 percent gain to close at 34,181.80.

The Index traded in a range of 486.44 points or 1.43 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,207.09 and a low of 33,720.65.

Of the 92 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 62 closed up 29 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 98.07 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 74 points, Cement with 37 points, Commercial Banks with 35 points, Automobile Assembler with 24 points and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 21 points.

The most points added to the index was by PSO which contributed 38 points followed by LUCK with 22 points, BAFL with 19 points, PAKT with 19 points and NBP with 18 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution with 14 points, Fertilizer with 10 points, Insurance with 6 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by BAHL which stripped the index of 17 points followed by HUBC with 14 points, EFERT with 10 points, JLICL with 8 points and UBL with 7 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 41.27 Million to 156.92 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.67.95 Billion.

Total companies traded were 351 compared to 339 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 193 closed up, 136 closed down while 22 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 1,497 to 70,038.

Value Traded decreased by 1.15 Billion to Rs.5.63 Billion
