Closing Bell: Bull run continues

November 01, 2019 (MLN): In today’s trading session, the bulls seemed fully charged to extend yesterday's gains and they did it at the end of the trading session by concluding the trade at 34,377 points mark, which was 174 points higher or 0.51% up against previous day’s close.

Positive sentiments emanated from improved macroeconomic factors and a descending revision in T-bills and PIBs yields helped lift stocks.

The Index traded in a range of 382.95 points or 1.12 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,490.96 and a low of 34,108.01.

Of the 92 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 46 closed up 40 closed down, while 6 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 106.09 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Cement with 67 points, Commercial Banks with 63 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 41 points, Fertilizer with 23 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 14 points.

The most points added to the index was by HUBC which contributed 39 points followed by LUCK with 32 points, MARI with 23 points, BAFL with 19 points and MCB with 17 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 16 points, Pharmaceuticals with 11 points, Tobacco with 10 points, Refinery with 4 points and Transport with 3 points.

The most points taken off the index was by OGDC which stripped the index of 16 points followed by PPL with 16 points, PMPK with 10 points, POL with 7 points and BAHL with 5 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 26.86 Million to 157.12 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.8.36 Billion.

Total companies traded were 349 compared to 355 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 170 closed up, 142 closed down while 37 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 4,676 to 56,329.

Value Traded decreased by 0.40 Billion to Rs.6.46 Billion
