September 28, 2020 (MNL): The KSE-100 index ended the trading session on Monday with a 960.28 point or 2.30 percent decline to close at 40,740.95.

The markets remained depressed throughout the day on account of political instability, wherein the arrest of Shahbaz Sharif by NAB due to charges of money laundering caused panic across the trading floors.

The Index traded in a range of 1145.50 points or 2.75 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 41,785.73 and a low of 40,640.23.

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 6 closed up 90 closed down, while 0 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 282.07 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 227 points, Cement with 137 points, Fertilizer with 75 points, Textile Composite with 59 points and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 58 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 79 points followed by MARI with 47 points, BAHL with 44 points, ENGRO with 37 points and HUBC with 35 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Leather & Tanneries with 1 points.

The most points added to the index was by TRG which contributed 6 points followed by EFUG with 3 points, MTL with 2 points and SRVI with 1 point.

All Share Volume decreased by 27.82 Million to 407.19 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.164.23 Billion.

Total companies traded were 418 compared to 411 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 57 closed up, 351 closed down while 10 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 4,401 to 119,446.

Value Traded decreased by 1.14 Billion to Rs.14.28 Billion
