Closing Bell: A day off from bears’ wrath

June 22, 2020 (MLN): Domestic Stocks rose on Monday after dithering between red and green zone, ultimately fell into bull territory as some value buying witnessed during the later hours of trading. Consequently, the KSE-100 index gained 299 points and closed the trade at 33,737 points mark. This was 0.89% higher compared to Friday’s closing.

The Index traded in a range of 721.21 points or 2.16 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 33,791.67 and a low of 33,070.46.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 49 closed up 45 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 102.13 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Fertilizer with 122 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 68 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 35 points, Commercial Banks with 27 points and Automobile Assembler with 24 points.

The most points added to the index was by ENGRO which contributed 56 points followed by FFC with 43 points, OGDC with 32 points, HUBC with 28 points and EFERT with 23 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Pharmaceuticals with 13 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 6 points, Miscellaneous with 5 points, Cable & Electrical Goods with 2 points and Sugar & Allied Industries with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by AGP which stripped the index of 15 points followed by MCB with 12 points, ABOT with 6 points, SHFA with 5 points and NESTLE with 5 points.

All Share Volume increased by 55.39 Million to 161.29 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.46.12 Billion.

Total companies traded were 357 compared to 319 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 146 closed up, 190 closed down while 21 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 33,762 to 81,805.

Value Traded increased by 2.80 Billion to Rs.6.13 Billion
