December 04, 2021 (MLN): Syrian private airline Cham Wings is set to begin Karachi-Damascus service from December 15 onwards, the company said during an inauguration ceremony held in Karachi earlier this week.

“A new destination awaits you to discover. Starting from 15/12/2021, you can now book your ticket to Karachi, the gateway to Pakistan and the city of lights, with a weekly flight every Wednesday,” the airline said on its official Twitter account.

The airline will offer connecting flights to the Iraqi cities of Baghdad and Najaf. The flight service will mostly cater to the huge number of religious tourists traveling into these cities from Pakistan.

Pakistan International Airlines is currently operating two weekly flights between Karachi and Damascus.

A large number of Pakistanis travel to Iraq for religious reasons, especially the Zaireen around Arbaeen.
