Bulls came off strong during the day’s session as the KSE 100 index rose by 964 points to touch 40,897 points by the day end. The highest mark recorded today was 40,980 points while the day low was 39,932 points thus moving within a range of 1,047 points.
131 million shares were traded in the session today, a value worth PKR 6.5 billion.
Commercial Banks remained the best performers at KSE – 100 throughout the day, contributing 280 points to the index alone. Cement and Fertilizer followed with 124 points each, thereby contributing almost 525 points to the 100 index in aggregate. The top net losing sector within the KSE – 100 was Food & Personal Care Products, after it took away 10 points from the index.
85 companies ended the day positively while only 9 ended negatively.
KSE All Share jumped up by 512 points to 29,730 points, witnessing an increase of 1.76% over yesterday’s closing. The peak was recorded at 29,781 points and the lowest recorded was 29,218 points. 247.5 million shares were traded by the end of the day, valuing at PKR 8.6 billion.
Commercial Banks was once again the most highly traded sector, as it lead the sector turnover with 31.2 million shares traded. Chemical with 28.9 million shares and Cement with 26.7 million shares were the next best performers volume wise.
Within KSE, 278 companies ended the session positively while 52 ended negatively.
