April 8, 2019 (MLN): The benchmark KSE – 100 index slipped below the 37,000 point milestone after losing over 570 points in intraday, as the trade was quoted at 36,947 points.

At the time of writing this article, the index was trading at 36,948 points.

The sharp decline in the index’s performance comes about after Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi delivered a statement over the weekend, tipping on a potential threat at the border as he quoted his reliable source, apprising that an attack from India is expected between the 12th of April and the 16th.

Apart from this, the markets seem to be stuck in an economic chaos given lack of clarity on IMF agreement, lack of positive response from FATF so far and generally dismal economic numbers.
