Baluchistan has been awarded with largest projects by MoC

Ministry of Communications has launched most of its projects in Baluchistan among all provinces. Baluchistan will be connected with other provinces, with new projects very soon.

It was briefed to the Standing Committee by NHA. It was told to the Committee that residents of Khuzdar had to travel via Karachi for Sukkar and it was terrible situation for them to face but now Khuzdar-Sukkur direct road will be inaugurated very soon.   M-8 had already been completed and now it takes 6 hours to travel over 650 km.

It was also told to the Committee that Kuchlak by pass construction has started. It was briefed before the Committee that with the aid of Asian Development Bank the phase–I from Mardan to Sawabi of Peshawar-Topi road will be started soon. Standing Committee directed to expand the road which connects Liyari Expressway to M-9, especially, the bridge should focus in this regard, because   Al-Asif Squire to Suhrab Goat road is incapable to bear traffic load. It was brief before the Committee that the work has divided into four parts. This road will be completed in 18 months, by 2018, with the addition of 22 new bridges.

Standing Committee resolute for the completion of Chakdara-Kalam road of priority basis because residents of area are facing trouble during travel. It was announced for Motorway form Col. Sher Khan Interchange to Chakdara for the facilitation of travelers to the Kalam.

The Committee was told that Karachi Green line project is in progress. Phase-I of Green line will be completed by November 2017 and Phase-II by April 2018. If provincial govt could purchase buses for the project, so it would be operational by November 2017 for the facilitation of residents. Committee directed for continuous coordination with the provincial govt so that people of Karachi could avail benefits of these national projects on time. It was told to the Committee the climate challenges have been considered in the project. 800 trees have been planted and more 18 thousand new trees will be planted for control of climate challenges.

The meeting was presided by the honorable Chairman Standing Committee Muzammil Qureshi. Minister for State Dr. Darshan, Honorable Nazir Ahmed Bughio, MNA, Hon. Ramesh Lal, MNA, Hon. Salim Ur Rehman, MNA, Hon. Hamid-ul-Haq Khalil, MNA, Hon. Sanjay Parwani, MNA, Hon. Tariq Ullah, MNA, Ms. Naseema Panenzai, MNA, Hon. Usamn Khan Tarkai, MNA, Ms. ShahJehan Mangrio, MNA, Hon. Hafiz Abdul Karim Federal Minister for Communication, Chairman NHA Shahid Tarar, Additional Secretary Communications Tashfeen Khan and other high civil officials were also present in the meeting.
