Arif Alvi calls for Joint Session of Parliament

September 17, 2018 (MLN): President Dr. Arif ur Rehman Alvi has called for a joint session of both the Houses of Parliament on Monday at 4 pm.

The joint session scheduled today will be the first formal session of the National Assembly following the election and swearing-in of the new Prime Minister, Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.

In light of the death of the former first lady of Pakistan Kulsoom Nawaz, the session had been postponed from its earlier scheduled date of September 13, 2018.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, members of the federal cabinet and parliament, chief ministers, governors and the Ambassadors, diplomats, members of civil society and other important personalities are expected to attend the joint session.

It is also pertinent to mention that the President has also summoned session of the Senate on September 18 at 11 am and of National Assembly at 10 am on the same day.
