After losses for 3 consecutive sessions, KSE-100 index gains 173 pts

December 20, 2018 (MLN): The KSE 100 index rebounded in today’s trading session, breaking its three day bearish spell. The index gained over 173 points by the day end and closed in at 38,236 points due to some clarity on IMF loans Program as Pakistan and IMF had talks for the new loan program yesterday, created positive sentiments amongst investors.

Fertilizer, Tobacco, Cement and Textile Composite emerged as the major net gainers as they contributed 88, 30, 28 and 14 points to the index respectively.

Among the index heavy weights, gainers on the scrips of ENGRO (3.32%), PAKT (4.55%), DAWH (2.65%), LUCK (1.24%) and MTL (3.34%) coxed the index towards gains.

Travelling within the range of 365 points, the index touched an intraday high of 38,379 points and an intraday low of 38,014 points. Around 81.8 million shares were traded today for the scrips listed on the benchmark index with their total value recorded at Rs. 4.2 billion.

Congruently, the broader KSE All share also gained 185 points by the day end and closed in at 28,288 points.

An intraday high of 28,362 points and an intraday low of 28,098 points was recorded by the day end for the all share index with a range of 264 points.

The market is expected to remain positive in upcoming sessions.
