91,017 tonnes traded during last 24 hours at Port Qasim

Two ships, Prosper and Maran Gas Sparta carrying Containers and LNG took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Pakistan Gasport Consortium Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Friday.

Meanwhile seven more ships with Containers, Coal, General Cargo and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the port at 47% on Thursday where a total of eight ships namely, Prosper, Cerulean, Beks Cenk, Johanna Oldendroff, BW Hazel, Chemroad Hope, Al-Gattara and Maran Gas Sparta are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, General Cargo, Canola Seeds, Coal, Palm Oil and LNG.

Cargo handling during last 24 hours stood at 91,017 tonnes, comprising 87,803 tonnes import cargo and 3,214 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 402 containers (TEUs), (247 TEUs imports and 155 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Five ships, Prosper, Beks Cenk, Johanna Oldendroff, BW Hazel and Chemroad Hope sailed out to sea on Friday morning. A total of five ships, CMA CGM Blue whale, Express Rome, Hony World, Daphne and Nave cosmos carrying Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PQEPT, FAP and LCT respectively on Friday.
