74,441 tonnes cargo imported at Port Qasim during last 24 hours

Three ships, Cerulean, Chemroad Hope and Al-Gattara carrying 1,394 tonnes General Cargo, 17,996 tonnes Palm oil and 62,849 tonnes LNG were arranged berthing at Multi-Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Thursday.

Meanwhile two more ships Star Csirious and DA with Canola Seeds and General Cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 41% on Wednesday were a total of seven ships namely, APL Miami, Cerulean, Beks Cenk, Johanna Oldendroff, BW Hazel, Chemroad Hope and Al-Gattara are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, General Cargo, Canola Seeds, Coal, Palm oil and LNG.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 140,559 tonnes, comprising 74,441 tonnes import cargo and 66,118 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,149 Containers (TEUs), (388 TEUs imports and 2,761 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Container Vessel APL Miami is expected to sail today. Two ships, Prosper and Maran Gas Sparta carrying Containers and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT and PGPCL respectively on Thursday.

While three more Container ships, CMACGM Blue whale, GH Chinook and Express Rome are due to arrive at PQ on Friday.
