223,142 tonnes cargo traded at Port Qasim

Five ships, MSC Noa, MSC Busan, Parnassos, Lowland Future and Cool Express carrying containers, Coal and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile another gas carrier Maran Gas Asclepius also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of twelve ships namely, MSC Noa, MSC Busan, CMA CGM Tancred, Dewi Saras Wati, Parnassos, Lowland Future, Engiadina, Coventry, Ogino Park, Cool Express, Capella and Sovereign are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Kernel, Coal, Canola Seeds, Phosphoric Acid, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the Port on Tuesday, where a cargo volume of 223,142 tonnes, comprising 179,575 tonnes import cargo and 43,567 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,910 Containers (TEUs), 1,617 TEUs imports and 2,293 TEUs exports was handled.

Five ships, CMA CGM Tancred, MSC Noa, Ogino Park, Capella and Sovereign sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship MSC Busan is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Seven ships, Maersk Kinloss, X-Press Suez, MSC Maria Elena, Reem-III, Maran Gas Asclepius, Madeiro and Sea Luck-III carrying Containers, Bitumen, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, EETL, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday, while another Containers ship MOL Gateway is due to arrive at PQ on Wednesday.
