139,644 tonnes cargo traded at Port Qasim

Three ships, APL Antwerp, CMA CGM Amazon and GSW Fabulous carrying Container and Chemicals were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile two more ships Songa Calabria and Al-Salam-II with containers and Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of eight ships namely, APL Antwerp, CMA CGM Amazon, GP Asphalt-III, Pacific Valor, Crimson Empress, YM Miranda, GSW Fabulous and Glorious are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Bitumen General cargo, Soya Bean seeds, Coal, Chemicals and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 139,644 tonnes, comprising 98,262 tonnes import cargo and 41,382 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,144 Containers (TEUs) (1,966 TEUs imports and 2,178 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Oil tanker Glorious, sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships APL Antwerp and GSW Fabulous are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Three ships, Songa Calabria, Uni Florida and African Puffin carrying Container and Coal are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Electric Power Terminal respectively on Friday, while three more container ships, Libra, Cape Mayor,& APL Hawa-II and a gas carrier Maran Gas Coronis are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, and MS Tiger is due to arrive on Sunday.
