124,995 tonnes traded at Port Qasim

Six ships, MSC Busan, Maersk Pittsburg, Crimson Empress, Da Cia Yun, Wladyslan Okran, and Pacific Valor carrying Containers, Soya Bean, General Cargo and Coal were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile two more ships GSW Fabulous and Straum with Chemicals also arrive at outer anchorage of Port during the same day.

Seven ships namely, MSC Busan, Maersk Pittsburg, Da Cia Yun, Wladyslan Okran, Pacific Valor, Crimson Empress and Al-Gharrafa are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, General Cargo, Soya Bean Seeds, Coal, and LNG respectively. A cargo volume of 153,039 tonnes, comprising 124,995 tonnes import cargo and 28,044 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,234 Containers (TEUs), (2,758) TEUs imports and 1,476 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Three ships, Gas carrier Al-Gharrafa, General Carrier Wladyslan Okran and Container ship Maersk Pittsburg are expected to sail on Wednesday.

M.V Straum carrying 18,627 tonnes Chemicals is expected to take berth at Engro Terminal on Wednesday, while two more ships APL Antwerp and CMA CGM Amazon with Containers, are due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
