117,237 tonnes cargo traded at Port Qasim

Brisk shipping was recorded at port Qasim where six ships — Maersk Atlanta, CSAV Tyndall, Trans Ocean, Gas Ionian, Chemroad Lily and Al-Soor-II scheduled to load/offload Containers, Cement, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile six more ships carrying containers, coal, soybean seeds, palm oil and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of the Port during last 24 hours.

A total of nine ships namely, Maersk Atlanta, CSAV Tyndall, Trans Ocean, Islander, African Puffin, Crimson Empress, Gas Ionian, Chemroad Lily and Al-Soor-II are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement Coal, Soya Bean seeds, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 141,899 tonnes, comprising 117,237 tonnes import cargo and 24,662 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,921 Containers (TEUs), (2,623) TEUs imports and 1,298 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, Container vessel Maersk Atlanta and Chemicals carrier Gas Ionian are expected to sail on Wednesday (today) in the afternoon.

Two ships, MSC Samantha and Tai Honesty carrying Containers and Coal are expected to take berths at QICT and MW-4 on Wednesday, 2nd May-2018, while two more ships, Express Athens and Da Chang with containers and General cargo are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
