KSE – 100 gains 43 points

Index movement remained limited during the day after the exchange succumbed to selling moving 43 points up at close. Volume picked up during the day, as interest piqued in KEL stocks after Governor made positive comments on the recent Shanghai Electric deal. Honda Atlas Car released earnings for the quarter, wherein it missed earnings expectations.  

Honda Atlas Car HCAR -3.89% closed lower today after missing expected profits on the back of high cost of sales and expenses in the income statement.

K-Electric scrip came in limelight after it witnessed a significant surge in volumes traded after Provincial Governor gave a thumbs up to the recent K-Electric and Shanghai Electric M&A deal.

Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Power Generation & Distribution (80.38 million), Technology & Communication (15.88 million), and Oil & Gas Marketing Cos. (7.48 million) with Synthetic & Rayon (3.80 million) and Fertilizer (3.49 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of +43.04 points up by 0.11%, closing in at 40591.87 points.

Index Volume was at 117.57 million shares, value of shares traded reached PKR 4.61 billion with index high-low range of 40741.91 – 40465.52.

The index movement was limited within the 276.39 points range.

43 companies closed up, whereas 45 were down at the day end.
